It was just a few months ago. A group of us were at Winchell's after a Sunday service, something we had done many times. I casually mentioned that in all these visits I had not heard any stories about Ken when he was a kid. He laughed and said who would want to hear anything about his boring childhood. I encouraged him anyway and for the next 30 minutes or so, Ken unraveled a story that was so filled with adventures, challenges and exotic places that it could have been a Lifetime movie, literally stretching across the continent, starting in French speaking Maine and ending in the ghettos of Southern California. Sadly, our story ended in the middle school years as it was one of our last outings together in the friendly confines of his favorite restaurant. He sure could tell a story..... John
